GUIDED TRIPS

Skagway is unique in it's offering of guided trips. There are hundreds of tours that suit just about everyone's interests.

CHILKOOT TRAIL

The Chilkoot Trail was made famous during the goldrush, as thousands of gold hungry people travelled its 33 miles to Bennette Lake and onward to Dawson City in search of Gold. Today the Chilkoot Trail is visited and hiked by many backpackers each year. There are shuttle services that provide transportation to the trailhead. A permit is needed May-October in order to do this hike. This trail can be done as a guided trip, or on your own. For more information visit the NPS website.

KLONDIKE GOLDRUSH NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK

Downtown Skagway on Broadway St. you will step into a time of brothels, gold and no law! Welcome to the Klondike Goldrush National Historic Park. Be prepared to shop, dine and be entertained.

ADVENTURING ON YOUR OWN

A few suggestions for day trips:

Take a ferry to near by Haines and discover the beauty of another small Alaskan mountain town.

Hiking is a favorite past time for Skagway locals and for good reason! There are a ton of well maintained trails just outside of town that provide beautiful scenery and are not overly populated. If you are lucky, your hike may include wildlife. We love to give helpful tips about local trails so please ask! Some of our favorites include: Yakutania Point, Smugglers Cove, Lower Dewey, Upper Dewey, Sturgills Landing, Dyea Flats, AB mountain, and the Chilkoot Trail.
